WP Recruitment & HR Ltd (formerly WP Recruitment Ltd) has been successfully supplying temporary, contract and permanent staff across the Island since 1989, which has resulted in achieving excellent local knowledge.
Starting initially as a secretarial service the company grew to meet client’s demands and now supplies all industry sectors (excluding medical and care roles).
By not ‘specialising’ WP are able to meet all their clients’ needs across all levels, their ‘can do’ attitude means they are always looking for a challenge and striving to improve.
Their personal approach allows them to tailor recruitment specifically for each client and in doing so develop a lasting understanding and relationship with both companies from the Island and mainland.
Their friendly and professional staff , who have a combined experience of over 50 years within recruitment, pride themselves on their high standard of customer service and use their expertise to provide a complete confidential service, ensuring adherence to agency standards and legislation.
All of this, combined with their comprehensive candidate registrations achieves consistently positive placement results.
WP Recruitment & HR Ltd is an independent recruitment agency. Their size, however does not reflect their capability as they have secured and maintained preferred supplier status with various organisations, both national and international, in both public and private sectors, based on the Isle of Wight, for many years. In addition they Second Tier supply on behalf of several national recruitment agencies who do not have Island representation.
WP Recruitment & HR Ltd is a corporate member of the REC (The Recruitment and Employment Confederation) , the professional body that governs employment agency standards. Their staff are qualified to REC standards and are committed to adhere to the REC Code of Good Practice.

Meet the Team
Kate Thomas
DIRECTOR
(BA, FELLOW REC, ASSOC. CIPD)
Director Kate joined WP in 2003 and took over the company in 2016. As first point of contact for clients and responsible for candidate registrations, Kate is able to establish good relationships with both parties, enabling her to successfully find the right person for the right company. Having grown up on the Island she has excellent local knowledge and is professionally qualified in both recruitment and HR. In her free time Kate enjoys travelling and exploring new places, she loves snorkelling, paddleboarding, kayaking and skiing, is an avid Formula One fan and adores her two cats.
Mel Atherton
RECRUITMENT ADMINISTRATOR
Mel has been with WP Recruitment since 2005 and is responsible for maintaining all administrative systems including maintaining client records and updating candidate information and referencing. When not in the office she loves gardening, walking, cycling and sailing and spends much of her time taking her children around the UK and Europe to compete in sailing events.
Michele Howard
ACCOUNTS ADMINISTRATOR
Michele is a qualified Nurse, she has worked in recruitment since 1996, joining WP in 2011. She is responsible for administering all financial aspects of the business, including temporary workers’ wages, holiday pay and invoicing. Outside of work Michele enjoys a variety of crafts, gardening on her allotment, walking her dog and most importantly spending time with her family.
