Location: Isle of Wight
Hours: 40 hours per week (predominantly during standard dayshift hours but will include one late shift and sleep every other week)
Days: Monday - Friday, occasional weekend shifts may be required.
Supporting the Operations Director in managing the day to day service provision for post 16 Residential Provision, across multiple units.
Leading, supporting and developing a team of approx. 20 staff. Assisting HR with appraisals and observations for existing staff, identifying areas for improvement and development. Assisting in recruitment, inductions and training of new staff.
Managing staff rotas. Ensuring shifts are covered and providing emergency cover where required. Participate in the on-call duty management rota when required.
Ensure high level of support are provided to residents, inline with individual plans and safeguarding principles. Updating and maintaining planned pathways to independence and risk assessments.
Monitor resident behaviours and assist in crisis management and resolution.
Working with Key Workers to compile reports for local authority in line with contractual obligations and liaise with external agencies, where required.
Review and update existing policies and procedures, in line with changes in regulations and standards and in addition to ensure they are fit for purpose within the growth of the organisation.
Minimum of Level 5 or Degree Level qualifications in a related discipline required, health and social care qualifications preferred.
Must have previous managerial experience within residential or outreach services for complex needs or mental health including working with 16 – 25 year olds.
Must have experience of managing safeguarding allegations and investigations.
Must be able to manage emotions, be calm under pressure and able to work within stressful situations to achieve resolution using problem solving and listening skills.
Must have good communication, mentoring and leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
Must also be able to work under own initiative to prioritise workload and be achievement and outcome orientated.
Salary: £32,000 to be reviewed after 6 month probation period.
