Location: Isle of Wight
Hours: 37.5 hours per week plus sleep-in duty on a rota basis. (shifts: 8am - 3.30pm/ 3pm - 10.30pm)
Days: Monday - Sunday on a rota basis
Oversee the running of the residential provision during shift, ensuring adherence to legislation and standards.
Ensure delivery of support, advice and encouragement to each young person, within an appropriate and authoritative manner.
Be responsible for appearance and cleanliness if facilities and encourage residents to take responsibility.
Ensure knowledge of and work towards each young persons person-centred plan. write compile and update reports and risk assessments.
Work collaboratively with other team members, external agencies and service users.
Must have previous experience of working within 12-16 year olds, preferably within a residential environment and a thorough understanding of safeguarding is required.
Level 3 Diploma qualifications ( or equivalent) in a relevant subject are preferred, however willingness to work towards these qualifications is also considered.
Must be able to act calmly and purposefully in crisis situations.
Must have excellent communication, listening and empathy skills.
Must be positive, be able to prioritise, work well on own initiative and create solutions within agreed parameters.
Must be collaborative, able to build relationships and be outcome orientated.
Must be computer literate with the ability to undertake administrative tasks with good organisational skills.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a DBS clearance.
Salary: £9.50 per hour worked plus sleep-in payment.
