HELPING YOU GROW…
So far 2017 has been our busiest year to date (since 1989) in Permanent Placements and Temp to Perm transfers, exceeding our second highest year of results after only six months, evidence of a welcome increase in our Island’s economy!
We too have celebrated growth by expanding to welcome the newest member of our Team, Consultant Lorraine King who comes from a background of marketing, business development, account management and of course recruitment, she will be focusing her role on client communications so you are sure to meet her soon!
As a thank you to our clients for enabling our success we are giving something back to the business community in our Autumn Offer:
New Website…
We are so pleased with the new site which went live in June (especially the way it links to all our social media accounts) we had to give a shout out to Wight Computers for all their hard work!

EMPLOYMENT LAW UPDATE…
Employment Tribunal Fees: The charging of submission and hearing fees, described as a barrier to justice, have been deemed unlawful by the Supreme Court and withdrawn with immediate effect. Claimants who paid charges since 2013 will be refunded.
General Data Protection Regulations: Effective from the 25th May 2018, new regulations cover all ‘controllers’ and ‘processors’ of ‘personal data’, a term which covers a wider scope than that under the current Data Protection regulations and for which employers with be required to have written consent, separate to any other terms. Good Work – The Taylor Review of Modern Work Practices:
Commissioned by the government to review UK employment ahead of leaving the EU and subsequent legislation, the conclusion that ‘all work in the UK economy should be fair and decent with realistic scope for development and fulfilment’ raised several concerns in relation to the current ‘gig economy’ where workers are engaged on a short term basis and no do not have access to full employment rights such as holiday pay and sick pay, this also included those workers on zero hours contracts recommending that after 12 months they should have the right to request a contract which guarantees hours which better reflect the actual hours worked.
Full details of the review can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/627671/good-work-taylor-review-modern-working-practices-rg.pdf
All our temporary workers are on a contract for services, are paid PAYE, accrue holiday pay, are eligible for SSP, SMP (or equivalent) and auto enrolment pension.
